The sensor measures glucose levels in interstitial fluid and transmits the data to the MiniLink transmitter, which sends information to a compatible monitor or insulin pump, allowing users to track glucose values directly on their device screen.
Medtronic Guardian 4 offers high accuracy with an average MARD of 8.7%, delivers readings every 5 minutes, features up to 7 days of wear, is ready for use approximately 45 minutes after insertion, can be comfortably worn on the abdomen, buttocks, or back of the upper arm, and integrates SmartGuard technology to support advanced automation features for more stable glucose control and greater lifestyle flexibility.
Sensors are sterile if the package integrity is intact. Always wash hands before insertion and check the insertion site for redness, irritation, or inflammation. Ensure the distance between the sensor and infusion set is no more than 7.5 cm, and when replacing, keep at least 5 cm between the new and previous sensor sites.
